I’m Amy Pierce. Aren’t You the Girl? is my true crime podcast based in Minnesota. It’s my mission to find every cold case or low profile case against young girls and women in my state specifically in the area I grew up in: Wright County. Each episode I’ll focus on a new area and different victims in hopes to revive some of the lowest priority cold cases across Minnesota into the digital world. Episode one starts my journey into researching cases and will tell the story of a suspected serial killer who was lurking in my backyard and the victims I’ve crossed investigating his spree. Cases will be told through family and friend interviews, police files, and archives to paint the most accurate picture of each victim possible. When 16 year old Joli Truelson was found in a creek after supposedly thumbing a ride to her grandmother’s house, a massive anti-hitchhiking movement ignited in the Twin Cities.
